Present continuous употребляется для выражения конкретного действия в так называемый момент речи, то есть действия, которое происходит прямо сейчас (now).
She is eating. She is not reading. — Она кушает. Она не читает.
It’s raining. — Идет дождь.
We’re running. — Мы бежим.
Present continuous образуется: am/is/are + doing/eating/running/writing
I am (not) -ing I’m working. — Я работаю.
he Chris is writing a letter. — Крис пишет письмо.
she is (not) -ing She isn’t eating. (or She’s not eating). — Она не кушает.
it The phone is ringing. — Телефон звонит.
we We‘re having breakfast. — Мы завтракаем.
you are (not) -ing You‘re not listening to me. (or You aren’t..). — Ты меня не слушаешь.
they The children are doing their homework. — Дети делают домашнее задание.
am/is/are + -ing = something is happening now (то, что происходит прямо сейчас):
Please be quiet. I’m working. (=I’m working now). — Потише, пожалуйста! Я работаю.
Look at Sveta! She’s wearing her new hat. (=She is wearing it now). — Посмотри на Свету! Она надела новую шляпку.
The weather is nice at the moment. It’s not raining. — Сейчас погода отличная. Дождя нет.
Where are the children? They’re playing football. — Где дети? Они играют в футбол.
You can turn off the television. I’m not watching it. — Можешь выключить телевизор. Я его не смотрю.
Глаголы, оканчивающиеся на -e (make/write/drive etc.) —>-e убираем и прибавляем -ing: make —> making, write —> writing, come —> coming, dance —> dancing, take —> taking, smile —> smiling.
Глаголы, оканчивающиеся на -ie—>-ie заменяем на -у—>-ying: lie —> lying, die —> dying, tie —> tying.
Глаголы to like, to love, to hate, to want, to be, to live, to understand, to see, to hear, to feel, to mean, to hope не употребляются в Present continuous.
Эти глаголы употребляются в present simple:
I want to see him now. — Я хочу увидеть его сейчас.
Don’t shout! I hear you quite well. — Не кричи! я слышу тебя хорошо.
She understands this question. — Она понимает этот вопрос.
